A Heart of Gratitude

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it's a posture of the heart. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to the abundance of God's goodness.

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Reflection

Gratitude is not denial. It doesn't erase pain or pretend everything is fine. Instead, gratitude shifts your focus from what is missing to the ways God is still present. For survivors, gratitude can feel complicated — especially when your story holds real loss and injustice.

God is not asking you to be thankful for the harm you endured. He invites you to notice His goodness in the middle of it: the people who showed up, the strength you didn't know you had, the moments of comfort that carried you through.

Crown Insight

Gratitude doesn't minimize your pain; it magnifies God's presence in the middle of it.

Gentle Encouragement

You don't have to feel grateful for everything. Start with one small thing today — a breath, a sunrise, a verse, a safe person.

Closing Prayer

Lord, sometimes gratitude feels heavy when my heart is tired. Help me see Your goodness in the small, quiet places of my life. Teach me to hold both grief and gratitude without shame. Thank You for being with me in all circumstances. In Jesus' name, amen.
